Artist statement
My work seeks to materailize the presence of things in their most precarious fragility. In order to accomplish that, I investigate the micro-phenomenon of degradation and weakening to reveal the movements that are at once anonymous, repetitive and in some cases unpredictable. For example, the wear and tear created by the endless circulation of pedestrians throughout the city, who are entirely disinterested by the urban landscape or noise are some of these indicators.
This philosophy enables my works to emerge and develop in exhibition and gallery spaces. I am particularly keen to examine the objectification and the staging of noises that I collect, plus other elements that I find, or simple events happening while I am on location. They usually are ephemeral. In some cases, I am transposing the results of such works by creating installations in situ. In other occasions, they are gathered in an exhibition room context, and sometimes in the form of web based art projects.
